Hey John. I've been hoping that all has been ok with you. I've kept checking here to see when you return. Thank bloody hell that experience is over and i hope to hell you are fully recovered by now. I miss the matches John. I'm working more than ever these days, so my darts play has taken a downturn.

I hope you stay with the blogging, master blogger.

And i really do miss those cricket matches.

BCBS is only the administrator of the insurance. The goverment, like most large corporations, is self insured. BCBS negotiates for lower prices and keeps a percentage and their admin fee. The gov. and corps. set the coverage. That's why John was able to go up his own chain of command and get the coverage approved.

I often hear that Korean health care is a nightmare. As much as I want to stay in Korea long-term fter I finish my walk, this is one aspect of Korean life I'm not looking forward to. Best solution: stay as healthy as possible!

Well it was better than a hallway. After I had Hillary there were no rooms available so I sat in the hall for about 6 hours. Since I had a spinal I had to lie flat on my back for 8 hours and could have no food. I missed breakfast -I was sort of busy so that was okay but I missed lunch and supper too and by then I was starving! Hunger, immobility and a hallway-yeah I was surly too. As bad as it was it doesn't come close to comparing with my outpatient hysterectomy! Major abdominal surgery at 6 am and released at 6 pm. Back to the hospital three days later for complications -treated and released. I missed 8 weeks of work rather than 6 becasue of the complications. The carrier? BCBS. Fortunately they have changed their policy and you now stay in the hospital.

Ugh - what an ordeal! I can imagine what a bear I'd be after no sleep or food in a K-hospital. I'm glad you're back home. Are you feeling better?

Wow, what an experience. I sure would like to have a couple drinks with you one night - I need to learn more about the BCBS situation (my carrier also) and get the full story. Drop me a note... -Chris rclott at ro dot com
